News ClippingsAP 24-JUL-98Durham House Fire Reveals Slithery Survivors-- Firefighters battling a blaze in Durham, North Carolina, weren't worried about who was inside the house. It was who got out that made them nervous. Residents in the area were advised to be on the lookout for copperheads, pythons and rattlesnakes that were forced out of their cages when the house caught fire early yesterday. When the firefighters reached the house, neighbors told them they might be running into the snakes because the man who lived there dealt with them. No one was bitten. Animal-control officers collected
58 snakes, but they're worried that more are still on the
loose.
