Malin This picture shows a 'Large Magellanic Cloud', the spidery looking nebula on the left is commonly and fittingly called the 'Tarantula nebula'. The bright star in the lower right of the picture is actually a supernova 'Supernova1987a' and is described as being 'a taste of things to come in the Tarantula nebula'.
